Merry Equinox! Fall Schedule 2026

I’m very pleased to announce the fall schedule for Sage Sips and TaoCraft Tarot.

There is none.

Tarot is now all a joy-filled labor of love. No freelance artist hustle. Just the joy of reading -and reading for you.

Private readings are still available and I still have every one of those 30+ years of tarot reading experience BUT they are only available to Sage Sips blog supporters on Ko-Fi.

Buy me a coffee (or join the Brew It Forward membership tier for unlimited one card email readings at your request any time while your membership is active) and a portion of the proceeds are donated to a different public service organization each month. The rest is used to create Sage Sips in a way that is free to everyone with no ads or paywalls.

For September 2026 the donation from the ko-fi proceeds supports the American Library Association in honor of Love Your Library month and their upcoming Banned Book Week.

As for the blog itself, it’s not on a regular posting schedule. It’s all pirate radio style whatever whenever. Please subscribe with the box on the right of this page to get every single bit of tarot content that I create or subscribe to Sage Sips on Substack to get most new posts as they drop.

Typical Sage Sips posts can include:

  • Daily meditation style one card Tarot readings
  • Action Eases Anxiety Tarot readings
  • Tarot Q&A
  • Oracle card readings
  • Tarot readings with other layouts
  • Tarot behind the scenes aka Tarot reading how-to
  • reposts from my other blog, Sage’s Second Cup

Merry Equinox! I hope to see you around here. Please feel free to explore the pages from the top menu or use the search to explore the archives. There are literally THOUSANDS of Tarot posts for you to browse covering every card of the RWS deck and more.

Pour yourself a second cup

I’m feeling very Chariot at the moment.

It’s telling me to be in the moment, look forward.

There is a hefty dose of Moon and Wheel energy.

When old things end, new things begin.

Please feel free to come browse the TaoCraft Tarot website and the Sage Sips blog archives. I think I finally have it looking the way I want it. Keep taking sips, and eventually you empty the cup. Then you can either dwell on the coffee that was or you can pour yourself a whole new cup.

See you at the next sip!

Modern Art!!

Energy path layout: Fading emerges, current energies, growing energies

Modern art!

Just for a fun comfort watch, we’ve be re-watching the Peter Capaldi seasons of Doctor Who. When Matt Smith left and Peter Capaldi came into the role, I wasn’t sure what to think as is the case for most Doctor Who fans when regeneration time comes around. Then they showed the old “Fires of Pompeii” episode where Capaldi had played the role of Caecilius the marble merchant. When toga-clad Capaldi raised his arms in a BEHOLD gesture and declared the Tardis to be “MODERN ART!” I’m like ok, ok…he can be the Doctor now.

If Tom Baker was the Doctor you wanted to be your dad, David Tennant was the Doctor you wanted to be your friend, and Matt Smith was the Doctors you wanted to be in your family, then Peter Capaldi was the Doctor I wanted to BE.

Why is my Whovian fan-girl side bringing up this obscure Doctor Who reference? Because Caecilius’ enthusiasm is exactly the vibe for this week’s reading.

When the world is on fire, sometimes you have to indulge in something you enjoy just to support your own sanity. Extra credit if it is something easy, simple and close at hand, like watching a favorite TV show or allowing yourself an extra scoop of ice cream. Or a beer. Or six. Or eating an entire cake with a spoon. Double extra bonus points if you have a sense of humor about it. Why not express yourself in the quirkiest, happiest most playful way that you can?

This is a week for passionate artists and creatives. It’s giving me itchy knitting fingers. Wait until you see this new hat pattern.

The fading energy card feels like early week energy. There is a ‘ get while the getting is good’ vibe about it. If you are feeling inspired, act sooner rather than later. This is the knight of cups after all. Knight cards are all about action. Cups are emotions. Grab the chance to express yourself and how you feel as soon as the opportunity presents itself. Don’t wait to appreciate your modern art!

The current energy card feels attached to the later part of the week. Sword cards are more precise and intellectual than cups, but they too can hint at action. Swords are connected to the classic element air, and the single upright sword on the ace card has a sweeping, lifting, rising energy. The word INSPIRATION comes strongly to mind here. If you have been in a creative slump, or feeling uninspired in any context, keep your eyes open and be ready, that may turn around soon. Inspiration is on the way, it seems.

For those of us who have had to focus on practical, mundane day-job energies, the ace feels more like getting a second wind. It is a hint of revitalizing an old project rather than beginning something new. Which energy carries the week for you depends on where you are starting out today (Merry Monday everyone!) If you are coming into the week fresh after the weekend, then fresh starts ahead. If, like me, you have a weekend work schedule hang in there. A fresh gust of wind beneath your wings is on the way.

The Chariot from the major arcana is the card representing growing energies. This also gives the impression of movement and flow through the week as a whole. The mental image here is of waves on a lake, as opposed to heavy surf on an ocean beach. This feels like movement and self expression, but gentle forward movement instead of a tidal wave.

There is absolutely no logical reason why, but clear quartz points and herkimer diamonds come to mind too. Lore around clear quartz is that it is an energy amplifier. Quartz points, especially tourmalated quartz (clear with small spiky inclusions of black tourmaline) are thought to support guidance (the spikes and points symbolize something ‘pointing the way’ for us.)

The keys for the week are self expression, creativity, art, increasing energy, and gentle forward progress.

So go, make life into your own work of modern art.

Weekend Oracle: The Source

Sage Sips is a reader supported free Tarot blog. When you support the blog on ko-fi, you can get a private Tarot reading by email as a thank you.

Your card for today: TEHOM

Stop and think is your best strategy over the next few days. Evaluate. Recalibrate. The root cause of the problem is the best place to solve it.

As I understand it, the Tehom card refers to the life source, the impetus of creation at the beginning of the universe. Sometimes we have to bake up to the beginning at take a fresh run at things. It may not solve current problems, but understanding the root cause of them can help us see the most effective solution. Root cause analysis may be a doorway to a fresh start.

To solve a problem, understand the source of the problem.

This continues the flow of energy we’ve seen lately with the 8 of cups Standing in the Ashes post. Understanding why boundaries had to be set, or why the things we released no longer serves us can help us in that process of holding intention for something new and better to fill that space that was created by those boundaries we set and attachments we released.

Part two of that post, Standing in the Shimmer, was originally released to members only. Stay tuned here for its release to everyone. Follow this blog to get everything directly to your in box.

Members on ko-fi get on-request private Tarot readings by email and early access to upcoming posts. Please visit the Sage Sips/Taocraft Tarot ko-fi page to see the updated membership benefits that start March 2026.

Thanks for reading! See you at the next sip!

My Tarot Valentine: It’s about the how.

It seems like this is the year.

I don’t know if this is an actual thing out there or just what I’m doing in my little world, but it seems like this the year for dialing it all down. Eat the rich, screw the capitalism, forget the elaborate bougie over the top holidays…it’s about the small, thoughtful and meaningful.

That’s about all that’s affordable these days, anyway.

So maybe it’s the year for some real talk about Tarot. I have nothing to promote, nothing to sell and no one to persuade. If you want a reading with me, great. Support me on Ko-Fi where the proceeds go toward creating Sage Sips and keeping it ad-free. If you don’t want a tarot reading, cool. Keep reading the blog instead. But don’t complain to me if you don’t like the free advice.

Valentine’s Day seems like a good place to start. This is the year for a construction-paper card, a single carnation or a box of chalky conversation hearts.

Love, romance and relationships are a fundamental, important part of being human. Tarot can be wonderfully helpful as we think and feel our way through relationships of every type and definition. It’s incredibly important and it’s no wonder that romance is one of the most asked Tarot Reading questions.

From the beginning, from the very first readings I did professionally in the early 2000’s, I’ve defined Tarot cards in terms of relationships. The major arcana is our relationship with personal growth and life as a whole. Pentacles are our relationship with career, money and the physical realm. Swords are our relationship with authority, culture and society.) Wands are our relationship with ourselves in terms of spirituality, passions, philosophy and so on. Cups are our closest relationships, the ones of emotion and heart, of romance, family and friendship. The suit of cups are Tarot’s Valentine cards, in a way. This feels like the year to turn romantic Tarot readings on its head, like the two of cups reversed.

It’s no wonder that romance readings are the trickiest to do. As good as Tarot is at dealing with deep emotions of a romantic relationship, they are really shitty at dealing with the superficial, outward aspects of it.

How to deal with a broken heart? How do you deal with loneliness? How do you get on the path to a meaningful relationship? How do you shine your light so that special someone can find you? How can you play your part in the relationship you have and help make it last?

Tarot readings can help work through those things.

When will you meet the love of your life? Will your ex come back? Is this the year the big relationship will happen? – No idea. Tarot readings, at least the ones that stem from subtle energy and intuition (spirit if you will) are silent when it comes to that type of thing.

How to find the love of your life?

Simple. LOVE YOUR LIFE.

If you aren’t happy with life without someone, how can you be happy with life with

Think about it.

Think about the type of person you want to be romantically involved with.

Is that person all wrapped up in how lonely they are and preoccupied with wondering when the right relationship will come along –

OR is the partner you envision happy, healthy, and engaged with their life as it is?

Sometimes, the best way to find your soulmate is to let go of the notion of ever having one. Sometimes the best way to find your soulmate is to stop looking for them and be the person you want to have in your life.

When it comes to Tarot Readings, it isn’t about if and when you will meet that special someone. It’s about the how.

Like attracts like. Happy attracts happy. Love attracts love.

When the pumpkin pie tastes just as it should

It takes a certain courage and generosity of spirit to be kind to yourself. It is OK to be grateful to yourself for that kindness.

What seems flawed on the surface can contain great beauty when we look at it as a whole. Scars are lovely souvenirs of the life you have survived. Removing yourself from unhealthy environments and toxic relationships can cause an ever changing mixed bag of emotions. It can make you exponentially grateful for the good ones. Yeah, this is a time for family…but hopefully it is family defined by love and relationship – shared DNA is optional. Personally, I think the whole Friendsgiving thing is kind of brilliant now that we are years into being a country divided by bigotry, racism, religion, politics and more. I don’t know that it is entirely a bad thing – many have learned the hard lessons that come with living fully, authentically, and protecting your peace.

Expectations are the enemy of a happy holiday. You don’t expect the pickles to taste like pumpkin pie. Smile when vinegar tastes sour because that just means it tastes just like it should. Life can be both bitter and sweet, but it always is as it is. The bitter times make it all the nicer when the pumpkin pie tastes as it should, too.

I’m thankful for all of you, and thankful to still be able to read Tarot for you.

Please like, follow, share and all of those good blog and social media things. We will be circling back to the beginning for a while, focusing on daily meditation Tarot. Some might have videos, many will not. Some might be morning, others will be evening or night. Private readings by email are OPEN and available on the ko-fi page. All proceeds support Sage Sips blog going toward the cost to create it and to keep it ad-free with no paywall.

The blog here on TaoCraftTarot.com, the YouTube channel, the Substack and most of the ko-fi blog are free to read for everyone. Members on ko-fi also get free private tarot readings and member-exclusive content on the ko-fi blog.

Back with a card for tomorrow. See you at the next sip!

Squirrels – 365 Ducks – 0

I just deleted a Tajitu layout that’s been dangling on the YouTube channel with almost no explanation and no associated post for nearly a week. Click HERE to read today’s brand new Taijitu layout for this week.

Clearly, filming the cards in the morning and writing the blog in the evening isn’t going to work.

That’s it. I’m done.

I’m done trying to promote what I do. If a message or idea is meant for you, it will find you one way or another no matter what I do – or don’t. If my post doesn’t find you, another one with the same message will. If I’m the right psychic for your Tarot reading – you’ll find me. If nobody wants or needs my readings, ok – I’ll use that time for other writing. Or knitting. Or baking cookies. If somebody wants this kind of Tarot, I’m right here, same as always.

That being said, I choose to move forward in harmony with the mysterious. I intend for all of our highest and best. If you intend for your highest and best, just try and stop it from landing in your lap. Cue that old Blondie song. If you want it, your life’s calling will find you one way or another, whatever it may be, (even if it is something you never imagined before, like being a Taoist, witch and email Tarot reader.)

Plus, I dunno who made the original, but the ducks and squirrels thing should get a truth in memes award….

Raving Squirrels – 365, Line Ducks – 0

No more schedules. Tarot happens when it happens.

Why ?

This isn’t a scam. This isn’t even a freelance business anymore. I have a day job. It isn’t my ‘dream’ to make a living doing Tarot. My dream is for doing Tarot readings for people to remain part of my life’s work.

What I want to do Tarot for people who are looking for a spiritually advanced, emotionally mature, responsible style of reading. I want to help people, and be fairly compensated for my time, decades of experience and expertise. At the same time, I want you to get a quality, highly professional reading in return for your time, attention and money. That’s what ‘fair energy exchange’ is really about.

THUS and therefore….I’m going full pirate radio for real this time. Stay tuned for random Tarot goodnesses: collective readings, behind the scenes, how to DIY read tarot and, if you use the AMA form, lots of free Tarot Q&A. Please follow the YouTube channel, this blog, the Substack (or all three) and you won’t miss a thing, no matter how random and chaotic it all gets. You’ll still get authentic collective energy Tarot from a reader with 30 years of experience, inspired by intuition – not marketing, not a schedule, not a money making bottom line. And you get all of that for FREE, but with a side order of hope that you’ll buy a paid private reading, too.

If you want something private and personalized, that’s not drawn from the collective energy: Hit my Ko-fi page for some of the most genuine, authentic and affordable email Private Tarot readings on the webber tubes.

Thank you for listening to my fifty-umpteenth void screaming TED talk about Tarot on the internet otherwise entitled I’m not a scam, I’m just tired of the scammy BS I keep seeing out there.

See you at the next random, unscheduled, rant-free Tarot-only sip!

What’s the Harm?

Private readings, memberships and the virtual coffee tip mug on Ko-Fi all support Sage Sips free tarot blog.

Merry Monday. I think. I am soooo not a morning person, but here is to it anyway.

Today’s card is a nice one to start. If you are seeing this on a not-Monday, it is a good vibe for any time.

Pentacles are practical, grounded and centered. A nice reminder that we don’t always have to be chipper and enthusiastic, but it is sometimes ok just to get the job done with no bells, whistles or drama. It’s ok to be a little low energy but get whatever needs done, well, done.

What’s the harm?

Pentacles also symbolize the physical realm, career and money. It is also a reminder that it is ok to indulge in a little superstition if it makes you feel your ability to attract what you need. The feeling is the power when it is couple with action – regardless of the level of enthusiasm. When superstition equates to inspiration, what’s the harm?

Green and gold, round coin shapes all come to mind this morning. Feng Shui to the rescue!

See you at the next sip!
